About The Museum This independent museum was originally established in 1964 in the undercroft of Arundel Town Hall. In 1977, it moved to the Grade 2* listed building at 61 High Street, but it reluctantly had to vacate those premises at the end of 2007. For the 2008 season, it opened in temporary portacabin accommodation in the Car Park in Mill Road opposite the Castle entrance. It has now moved again, and again to temporary accommodation, this time in Crown Yard Mews. It is involved in a major fundraising drive to raise a total of £1.6 million to build and fit out a new permanent home on a prime site in in the centre of the main tourist area of Arundel. This is the site currently occupied by St Nicholas Hall, opposite the Lower Castle Gate. Arundel Museum is run by the Arundel Museum Society, a registered charity. The Museum is manned entirely by volunteers and relies on subscriptions, donations and fund raising events for its survival. Publications The Museum publishes a number of books and leaflets to help you enjoy your visit to Arundel. These are available from the Arundel Museum & Information Centre. Also look out for the greetings cards with scenes from Arundel past and present. For details of these publications, please click here.
