About The Museum

This independent Registered Museum, which first opened in 1963, is a registered charity and is run by the Arundel Museum Society. The Museum is run entirely by volunteers and relies on subscriptions, donations and fund raising events for its survival.

The Museum has reluctantly had to vacate the accommodation in the High Street that has been its home since 1977, but has now re-opened in temporary portacabin accommodation. Eventually, the Museum plans to build a new permanent home in the heart of Arundel.

Visit Us at the History Store

The Museum's History Store is located in the Car Park in Mill Road opposite the Castle entrance. It is open every day of the week from 11.00am to 3.00pm during the Summer (from Easter to the end of August), and from 11.00am to 1.00pm during the Winter (from September to the day before Good Friday). Entry is free.

The Museum is currently hosting a photographic exhibition of the Porches and Porticoes of Arundel. This exhibition is linked to a walking tour of the town, a leaflet of which can be obtained from the Museum. A series of different exhibitions is planned throughout the coming year.
