Saturday 27 March, 7.30 – 11.30pm: The Museum Bash Music by The Phoenix Big Band and the Caws Brothers. Licenced Bar. Hog Roast and other delicacies (not included in entrance fee). Tombola. Raffle. £12 (£10 if booked on or before 28 February). Pre-booking essential. Sunday 28 March, 11.00am - 5.00pm: Market in the Marquee Everyone is welcome at our Market in the Marquee. It will feature numerous stalls, games, tombola, etc. And there will be refreshments to sustain you. Entry to the market is free. Individuals, groups or charities wishing to hire a stall should complete a booking form, and send it to the Museum, enclosing a cheque for £15 per stall. Saturday 15 May, Goodwood Racecourse (Horse Racecourse) near ChichesterIt is a circular walk, and offers you, your family and friends the chance to experience breathtaking views over the picturesque South Downs, and at the same time generate funds through sponsorship for your chosen charity, Arundel Museum. The Registration Fee for the 10km Family Walk is £12.00 per walker (children aged 11 or under go free). You must register in advance, so why not do it now? As soon as we have received your registration details and payment, a sponsorship form will be sent to you by Arundel Museum so that you can start getting your sponsors immediately. Petanque and/or Summer Mediterranean Fish Supper If you want a game of pétanque or just want to watch, turn up at 6:30pm at the Arundel Pétanque Club's terrain at the Arundel Football Club. After the game we will be retiring to Fins for a Summer Mediterranean Fish Supper. Join us there if you just want a delicious supper. Bring your own wine or other alcoholic drinks. Cream Tea at The Heveningham Barn with Optional River Trip By kind permission of Reg and Jill Haydon, the cream tea will be served at the South Stoke Barn designed by Walter Heveningham. The cream tea will be provided by Helen and Terry Bedford. You can travel by road and park in the farmyard, arriving for tea at 3.30pm. Or travel by boat (max 28) leaving Arundel Boatyard at 2.30pm, returning from South Stoke at 4.30pm to arrive back in Arundel at approximately 5.30pm. Tea: £5; Tea and River Trip £15. Wednesday 22 September, 12.00noon, Loxwood Jetty to the rear of Onslow Arms Wey and Arun Canal Trip Brian Parkinson has organised a weekday trip on the brand new electrically driven narrow boat Wiggonholt on the Wey and Arun Canal. The boat provides covered accommodation, and is suitable for wheelchairs. The trip will be 2½ hours long commencing at 12.00noon. You will need to a bring picnic lunch, but a glass of wine will be provided while you enjoy the serene surroundings of the canal for 2½ miles that include two locks. The cost will be about £13 dependent on the number interested. The boat has room for 42 of us, but we need a minimum of 30 people to make the trip viable. You will have to make your own way to the departure point at Loxwood. This autumn, members will have a unique opportunity to see and possibly touch parts of an Enigma Code Breaking Machine developed at Bletchley Park during World War II. The use of the Town Hall has been kindly provided free of charge by Arundel Town Council. Includes a glass of wine provided by Pallant Stores. £10.
