Evening of Jollification

A three course supper laid on by Terry Bedford of St. Marys Gate Inn who is sponsoring the event. Music from the 60s, 70s and 80s will be provided by 'Touch2Much'.

Pre-booking is essential. Tickets cost £12.50.

Porches and Porticoes

A photographic exhibition of the Porches and Porticoes of Arundel by Roger Halls. A leaflet describing an unaccompanied town walk that accompanies this exhibition is available from the Museum.

Saturday 29 March, Norfolk Centre

10.00am - 3.00pm: Arundel Museum Spring Market

Everyone is welcome at this farmers' and craft market, with tombola, light refreshments, etc.

7.00pm for 7.30pm: Supper with a 'Tribute to Flanders and Swann'

A two course supper accompanied by a 'Tribute to Flanders and Swann' presented by David Bathurst. The 'Tribute to Flanders and Swann' will commence at 7.30pm, with a supper break from about 8.00 until 9.00.

Pre-booking is essential for the supper.

A digital and video presentation by Tony Pratt of the Wey and Arun Trust.

Saturday 7 June, 2.30pm, The Boatyard, Arundel

Boat Trip upstream from Arundel, returning for a Cream Tea at the Tea Rooms by the Boatyard

The boat will leave from the Boatyard at 2.30pm. The tide will be high so the views from the boat should be good. On return, at about 4.00pm, a Cream Tea will be laid on in the Tea Rooms by the Boatyard.

Boules et Buffet

Enjoy taking part in a light hearted pétanque competition, or simply come along to enjoy a buffet supper and wine afterwards.

Booking required by 14 July. £10 for the pétanque and a buffet.

The Men Behind the Buildings - Arundel's Victorian Architects

An exhibition of Arundel’s Victorian architects and their architecture. Collect a leaflet about the architects and an I Spy Victorian Buildings Family Trail and Quiz from the Museum.

When Queen Victoria Came to Stay

An exhibition of the visit by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert to Arundel in December 1846.

Amazing Eels

All about eels. An exhibition linked to the West Sussex Museums Council’s Victorian Time Team Trail. Details of the Trail and a Quiz can be obtained from the Museum.

Informal Boules Evening

Just boules. £2.50 per person. Boules available to hire or buy. Proceeds to the New Museum Fund. Bar open from 7pm.

Arundel Day Fair at the Festival

We are organising or helping with the following activities in connection with the Day Fair as part of Arundel Festival:

  • 2 - 4pm -- Children’s Craft Stall at the Football Club
  • 2 - 5pm -- Third Annual Marbles Championship at the Football Club

    Knuckle down and have a go! The third Arundel Marbles Tournament will be held as part of the Arundel Day celebrations. Organised by Arundel Museum, and this year sponsored by Arundel’s newest shop, Lost Marbles, the Museum’s team will be defending its title won against the previous holders, Kings Arms.

    Teams of four compete. So form a team now - a family, street, work place, society, club, pub or just friends, and enter by calling Gordon Sawyer on 01903 885960.

    If you want to find out how to play, come to the open practice sessions to be held in Nineveh Shipyard Gardens at 7 - 8pm on each Wednesday in August. Or click here to download the rules.

  • 4pm -- Waiters’ Relay Race in the Town

All the proceeds from these events go towards our development fund.

Visit to Berwick Church and Firle Place near Lewes

The trip will leave by bus from the Town Quay at 10.00am, returning at 4.30pm. Berwick Church (decorated by the Bloomsbury set) will be visited at 11.00am, and Firle Place (home of the Gage Family) at 1.45pm. A pub lunch will be available at the Cricketers Arms in Berwick, and afternoon tea and cakes at Firle Place.

The cost of transport and entry to Firle Place is £12. Numbers are strictly limited to 15.

Thursday 11 September, 6.00pm, Arundel Football Club

Boules plus Supper

Come and enjoy a relaxing evening with friends, join a team of three players, and take part in a light hearted pétanque competition. Or simply come along for a paella supper (meat or seafood) and a drink from the licensed bar.

Tickets available from The History Store or from Larkins Store in Tarrant Street. £10 for the pétanque and supper. Boules for hire on the day at £3.00 per set.
